Reports Article 29 LEC 2024 - What level of compliance on biodiversity and ESG risk issues?
EthiFinance has published the first edition of its study "Rapports Article 29 LEC 2024 - Quel niveau de conformité sur les enjeux de biodiversité et de risques ESG ?" (Article 29 LEC 2024 Reports - What level of compliance on biodiversity and ESG risk issues?), which looks at the level of transparency of financial players subject to Art. 29 LEC on biodiversity and ESG risk issues in 2024.
The results show that at least 59% of players do not comply with transparency requirements on the 5 biodiversity and ESG risk criteria studied. The study revealed two effects: a size effect and an effect linked to the type of player. We note that smaller players have the most difficulty complying with regulations (size effect), and that institutional investors are more transparent than asset management companies (player effect). Furthermore, beyond the publication of required information, very few players implement a continuous improvement plan to compensate for their shortcomings in terms of transparency.
